Today, Samsung Electronics announced the official launch of One UI 3, which is the latest upgrade of some Galaxy devices, bringing exciting new designs, enhanced daily functions and deep customization. The upgrade will be provided with the Android 11 OS, which is part of Samsung’s commitment to provide consumers with three-generation operating system (OS) upgrade support, and promises to quickly provide consumers with the latest innovative technologies1.
After the implementation of the Early Access program, One UI 3 will be launched today on the Galaxy S20 series devices (Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra) in most markets in Korea, the United States and Europe; the upgrade will be gradually implemented in the next few weeks. Available in more regions and more devices, including Galaxy Note20, Z Fold2, Z Flip, Note10, Fold and S10 series. The update will be available on Galaxy A devices in the first half of 2021.
“The release of One UI 3 is just the beginning of our commitment to provide Galaxy consumers with the best mobile experience, that is, to let them get the latest OS innovations, and get the latest OS innovations as soon as possible.” Samsung Electronics mobile communications business. “A UI 3 represents an integral part of our mission, which is to continuously create new innovative and intuitive experiences for our consumers throughout the device life cycle. Therefore, when you own a Galaxy device, you will gain access to The gateway to new and unimaginable experiences in the coming years.”
The design upgrade in One UI 3 brings more simplicity and elegance to the One UI experience for Galaxy users.
In the interface, the features you use and access the most (such as the home screen, lock screen, notifications, and quick panel) have been visually enhanced to highlight important information. New visual effects, such as the Dim/Blur effect for notifications, can help you quickly focus on the most important things, and the redesigned widgets make your home screen look organized, clean and stylish.
A UI 3 not only looks different-it also feels different. Smooth motion effects and animations, coupled with natural tactile feedback, make navigation and mobile phone use more enjoyable. The fading effect of the locked screen looks clearer, sliding under your finger is smoother, and key operations are more realistic-every screen and every touch is perfected. The flow between devices is more natural because one user interface can provide a unique and more comprehensive experience in the broader Galaxy ecosystem and support new features that are seamlessly provided across devices3.
One focus of UI 3 is to provide everyday simplicity. A “lock screen” widget with a redesigned user interface helps you control music and view important information (such as calendar events and routines) without having to unlock the device. By grouping messaging app notifications in front and in the middle, you can track messages and conversations more intuitively, so you can read and respond to messages quickly. The side-to-side full-screen video call layout creates a new communication experience and brings you closer to the most important people.
With One UI 3, the camera on your device will be more powerful. Improved AI-based photo zoom function and improved auto focus and auto exposure function can help you capture great photos. In addition, the organization categories in the “Gallery” can help you find photos quickly. After swiping up the screen while viewing a specific photo, you will see a set of related photos. To ensure that these memories are not lost, you can restore the edited photo to the original photo at any time, even after saving it.
We hope that users can freely customize its UI according to their own preferences. Now, whether you are constantly turning on dark mode or sharing mobile hotspots, you can customize the quick panel with a simple swipe and tap new method. You can also share images, videos or documents easier than ever. With the ability to customize the sharing table, you can “pin” the most commonly used sharing destination, whether it is a contact, a messaging application, or an email. Most importantly, one UI allows you to maintain different profiles for work and personal life4, so you don’t have to worry about sending something to the wrong person.
For further customization, you can place widgets on the home screen and adjust the transparency to better match your wallpaper, or change the design and color of the clock on the “Always Show” or “Lock” screen . In addition, you can even add videos to the incoming/outgoing call screen to make your call experience more personalized.
A UI 3 has been created and users are kept in mind, including new digital health apps that can help you identify and improve your digital habits. Quickly view usage information, which shows your weekly screen time changes, or check usage while driving, to help you make informed decisions about how and when to use your Galaxy device.
As Samsung continues to develop the Galaxy experience, One UI will get more updates while launching a new flagship in early 2021.
A UI 3 also marks the release of Samsung Free. A simple right-click on the home screen can bring a channel full of news headlines, games and streaming media to your fingertips. With this new feature, you can quickly find immersive content, such as fast-launched games, latest news or free content on Samsung TV Plus, all content can be tailored to your interests.
